This project was very rewarding.
The owners originally had a small fibro house on the block which we demolished. The architect plans were to be the ‘ultimate’ beach shack.
This project was also very environmentally friendly with double glazed windows, solar hot water service, 10,000L water tank to toilets & laundry and hydronic heating.
There was also a mix of finishes with vertical sugar gum cladding, face brickwork, horizontal weatherboards, polished concrete and polished tasmainian oak flooring. |

This small renovation was very satisfying.
The owners had four small rooms to the rear of the house, toilet/laundry/bath/sitting (each had different floor heights), that had just been ‘tacked on’ over the years.
We demolished these and replaced them with pretty much the same, but larger and more practical. The sitting has now become a lounge with large concertina doors opening onto a large deck area. |

This large renovation has progressed very well.
The house was originally a split level with under the house used as a ‘carport’.
To make use of what they had they decided to fill in underneath with a family room, laundry and bathroom. A large garage has also been added. To the rear the upper timber deck was in disrepair due to termite activity and rot, this has also been replaced with steel and termite treated hardwood.
All pine for this project has been termite treated. |

| This renovation and extension was carried out to the bluestone building built in 1855, and the weatherboard extension added in 1910. The aim was to ensure that our new works complimented and ‘married in’ with the existing. We first demolished all the old “lean to’s” that had been added over the years. The new works consisted of a Bathroom, Toilet, Laundry, Vestibule and Conservatory (complete with glass ceiling’s). We re-placed the old Kitchen, added Verandah’s (similar to what would have been there originally) and re-weatherboarded and painted the entire house. This project was a great team effort between the Architect (Iain Heggan), the owners and builder. |
